Accessibility
How we have built this site, and what to do if something is hard to use.
Last reviewed 13 October 2026. We want everybody to be able to use this site, whatever their browser,
device or ability.
What we have done
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, and there is a "skip to content" link at the top.
- Colours are chosen so text is readable against its background, and the site does not rely on
colour alone to convey meaning.
- Pictures carry descriptions for anybody using a screen reader.
- The text resizes without the page breaking, and the site works at any window width.
- Movement respects your system setting: if you have asked your device to reduce motion, animations
do not run.
- The navigation works with JavaScript switched off or blocked.
What we know is not perfect
Accessibility is never finished, and any site with content added over time will drift. If a
photograph is missing its description, or a document is hard to read, that is a fault worth telling
us about rather than working around.
Tell us
If any part of this site is difficult to use, please tell us and we will fix it. Say which page and
what happened, and we will come back to you.
Changes to this page
If we change anything here we will update the date at the top.
